Go Ahead… Give Your Self a Real Treat This Month!
It's creepy and it's kooky -- and it's Mom's favorite low-stress holiday! According to mom after mom, those infamous "big name" holiday—you know which ones we mean—are sometimes more headache than highlight. The pressure! The presents! The out-of-town guests or out-of-town travel, the cooking and cleaning, the expense! But Halloween—that's a different story. More than two-thirds of Mom’s are involved in celebrating with their families.
What I love best about Halloween is all the little things that I see families doing every year, stuff that's unique to their family, not part of some big commercial idea about what the holiday should be like. Whether it’s just the basics—costume, trick-or-treating, candy eating—now we've got a whole series of activities and special events that many kids totally look forward to—from roasting pumpkin seeds to making a scary straw man for the front porch. Things don’t have to be fancy, elaborate, or expensive, but it's all uniquely about family traditions and memories that kids will treasure their whole lives. Go on, string fake webs all over your porch, hang ghosts from the trees, cut out scary silhouettes and tape them in the windows, or create a cemetery in your front yard!
Halloween's one time you can really go over the top with your kids. Halloween is one time even the most health-conscious moms can give in to their sweet fangs without any guilt at all.
My heart breaks for many young people and families who will not be able to enjoy this fun time of the year out trick or treating or going to Halloween parties.
As you know, tragedy falls on many in this life. We aim to do what we can to help kids and their families who are unable to get out and have fun right now.
We are still on a mission to raise $5,000 for Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa Bay. We do this by donating to them a portion of our income from homes we sell. As you know Metropolitan Ministries does great work in helping families in their struggles of housing, feeding, and education to become self-sufficient.
So, YOUR REFERRALS REALLY DO HELP THE KIDS…
Who do you know considering buying or selling a home you could refer to my real estate sales team?
Not only will they benefit from our award-winning service, but we donate a portion of our income on every home sale to Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa Bay.
I want to make it easy to refer your friends, neighbors, associates or family members considering making a move, so here are some options:
- You can go teamdeleon.com/referrals and enter their contact info on line or forward the link to who you know considering a move.

“Metro’s holiday assistance will make the difference . . .”
With two special needs children and a grandson to support on a small income, this struggling family has relied on Metro during the holidays. You made their tiny celebration brighter.
Struggling to get by on the small income she earns, Rhonda and her husband are doing all they can to keep a roof over their heads and put food on the table. But they sometimes “run out of money before they run out of month.
The parents of three young boys, Rhonda and Ron have made the kids the focus of their lives. Two of the three have special needs. One, age 9, has ADHD. The second, age 6, has a rare genetic disorder and has lived his entire life with an inoperable brain tumor.
Rhonda says she and Ron were told early on that he would never walk. But the Lord has blessed this little guy. “With God’s help, he’s walking and running today,” says Rhonda. And while he requires a feeding tube at night, he’s able to lead a relatively normal life, even attending public elementary school.
The third boy is a 2-year-old grandson these valiant parents have also welcomed into their home. “He has his good and bad days,” says Rhonda, “but I wouldn’t trade him for anything.”
As you might imagine, the family keeps a close watch on their finances. But during the 2021 holiday season, they were forced to get help at Metro.
MAKING THE HOLIDAYS SPECIAL
Thanks to you and other generous friends, Metro was able to provide the family with supplementary food and even groceries for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
At the time, Rhonda told us her husband had a back injury that prevented him from working. She said, “This holiday assistance will make a difference for me because I’m the only income provider for my family. It will help a lot. We have been struggling this year.”
While Rhonda has a long history of battling depression, she tries to keep the focus on her family and asks for prayer for them — for strength, for success in school, and for the healing of her husband’s back.
She sees better days ahead, in no small part because of the assistance you shared with her family.
