I just came inside from shooting a video outside and Wow! It’s nice out! Yes, I realize that when you get this and read it that it could be cold and rainy, but those cold days are just about over. Everyone loves Spring, primarily because it means summer is near!

For many across this great country though, it’s still cold, grey, and snowy! One thing is for sure, this winter season is coming to an end. It does every year without fail.

Just like the weather seasons come and go, so do the seasons of life. I just celebrated another birthday which brings to mind when my youngest started college, and my oldest was off figuring out work and life. Are you with me when I say that these seasons seem to come and go faster and faster as well as the time? My wife reminded me last night we have shared 40 of my birthdays together.

Some of life’s seasons will be hot and others will be cold, some high and some low. The lows we want to move by quickly, the highs we want to stay in forever. But it’s the low points, those tough times, that I have learned the most from. All of the experiences through these seasons make me who I am So, what does this have to do with you and real estate?

Spring is a time of action, a heating up of the desire for a new place to call home for many. Maybe you or someone you know is right now looking or considering it. That’s great! We are here to help with that. Whether it be a list of the 10 best buys matching home buying criteria or delivering top dollar on a home sale along with our written guarantee of the asking price, our award-winning system and team are eager to help.

Unfortunately, there are some that will have a Springtime they would much rather forget.

With all the beauty this Springtime brings, there is also the ugly for some. Just down the street from where I’m typing this, Metropolitan Ministries is having to turn some away. For them and their families, Springtime is the furthest thing from their mind. Don’t get me wrong, these families long to see their kids out in the yard playing or riding their bikes – but for now, they are praying for help.

Through our Go Serve Big mission statement we are on a quest to raise $5,000 for Metropolitan Ministries! For 50 years, Metropolitan Ministries has established itself as Tampa’s most respected servant leader connecting more than 25,000 volunteers who have a desire to help with those who need help the most.

Whether it’s providing Food for the struggling and hungry through its many food pantries, or providing temporary housing for the displaced or the abused or the homeless, to the jobs programs for struggling neighbors trying to get back on their feet, to the Clothing, the Summer Lunch Programs, the Toy Shop and their Market Place for poverty-stricken neighbors, Metropolitan Ministries leads the way in restoring lives one person and one community at a time.

Volunteers share groceries and a woman embraces a girl in a four-photo outdoor collage.

As a leading non-profit, Metropolitan Ministries depends on Sponsorships and Donations to continue its leading-edge service. We proudly donate a portion of our income from real estate sales to Metropolitan Ministries to help them continue serving the needs of those who most need it in our community!

If you or anyone you know is considering selling, give me a call or pass on my number. Thank you in advance for your referrals! My number is (813) 454-6923.

Over the years of helping families sell or buy the place they call home, we have met so many wonderful, loving, caring people. We are so grateful. Thank you for reading over this month’s Homeward Bound and thank you for referring anyone you know considering buying or selling to my team. They will be in good hands and a very worthy cause will benefit as well.

P.S. Please read over the great story below. It will help tell the story of the great work Metropolitan Ministries is doing better than we can.

When Maria and her daughter experienced a series of setbacks, you helped them get back on their feet and find new hope. It’s hard to have hope when you’re in desperate need and believe you’ve run out of options. But that’s where Maria and her 8-year-old daughter, Marcela, found themselves in November 2020.

“I was desperate, hopeless, not sure what to do,”

She was very sick with COVID-19. Her infection was so severe, she was hospitalized in intensive care for two weeks.

As the illness ran its course, she completely lost her eyesight. Worst of all, while Maria was laid up, her fiancé passed away from the virus.

When she was finally released from the hospital, Maria faced the new challenge of being a single mom. What’s more, she was unable to go back to her job as a chef at a local restaurant.

With her damaged vision, she had to stop working. Then came the final blow: her beloved brother, her last living blood relative, also died of COVID. She and her daughter were truly alone.

They had no one left to turn to.” Out of options? Maybe not. But then Maria found out about Metropolitan Ministries. “Metro took me in, which every day I’m so thankful for,” she says.

“As I came in here, they gave me time to recuperate. My eyesight is slowly coming back, and I got my job back at the restaurant.”

Maria and Marcela have been blessed to have a roof over their heads, food to eat, and an incredible variety of support services that have enabled them to regain their stability and make plans for the future. Every day at Metro, this little family is working hard to put their lives back together.

At this point, Maria is taking it one day at a time. “I’m just trying to figure out the next steps. That’s the biggest hurdle.” “So much support” “Metropolitan Ministries offers so much support,”

Maria says. “Every day I wake up and I pray, ‘I’m so happy to be alive but also to have that network of support.’” Having been so blessed by her experience at Metro and knowing Easter is ahead Maria has an encouragement for you and other Metro partners:

“If you have anything to spare, please consider donating to Metropolitan Ministries.”
